Welcome to our website. We are Graham & Colleen Stead and although Clovabrae is a very new affix in the Beardie world we have lived with this wonderful breed for 19 years.

When we got engaged in 1987 and wedding plans were underway, it was never in any doubt that we would be getting a dog soon after.  Grahams parents had Old English Sheepdogs, Tosh & Toby and my family had a Rough Collie x Border Collie, Sam.

When I was about 13 years old I had met a Bearded Collie who had jumped all over me and just about knocked me over and I thought he was wonderful.  I told Graham that I would like a Bearded Collie and it just so happened that a Beardie lived in the next street to his parents home.  We went round, knocked at the door and this Beardie came to greet us, wagging her tail as she came. We asked the man where he had got his dog from .......... he went back inside and reappeared with a piece of paper with the name and number of Liz & Mick Jay of the Talraz Bearded Collies.

Remarkably, they had a litter due and so in September 1988 we were married and our first Beardie, Murphy, came home too.   

So here we are, 19 years later, putting a website together ........ who'd have thought it ??
