Ch. Gillaber Tomnavoulin x Ch. Gillaber Drumoak

After a few years away from the show ring, occasionally showing friends dogs, we thought it was about time for us to start looking for a puppy that we could hopefully show.

Miller 2008  I had always loved the Gillaber dogs bred by  Ailsa Gill and Hazel Cook, so just before Christmas 2004 I phoned to see what they were planning, litter wise, for the following year and whether they would consider letting us have one of their puppies.

To my delight Ailsa told me that they were planning to mate their bitch, Brora (Champion Gillaber Drumoak) to their dog, Tom (Champion Gillaber Tomnavoulin) that very afternoon and that possibly there could be a dog puppy for us, if everything went to plan !!  Well, thankfully everything did go to and in April 2005 Miller came to join us.

Right from day one Miller has just taken everything in his stride.  He is a laid back kind of dog, nothing seems to phase him and his calm confidence makes him a natural show man, making my time in the show ring very easy, all I have to do is keep up !!  Away from the ring he has that fantastic Beardie charm that all of us adore.  He is funny, intelligent, friendly, and charming with just a little bit of mischief about him that keeps life interesting.  He will also not think twice about nicking your sandwiches!!

To date he has delighted us with his many achievements in the show ring.  At The Bearded Collie Club Championship show (DecemMiller at Border Union 2006 aged 16 months oldber 2005) he was awarded Best Puppy in Show.  Aged 14 months old he won his Junior Warrant but also on the same day Best Dog, Best Opposite Sex and Reserve Best In Show at the North of England Bearded Collie Club open show (May 2006) and then later in the year at the Working & Pastoral Breeds Association of Scotland he won the Dog Challenge Certificate and Best of Breed.  We had a great day at Crufts 2007 as he won Mid Limit Dog and was also a finalist in the Kennel Club Junior Warrant competition.  Needless to say we are thrilled to bits with him and his success in the show ring.

Just thought this update deserved a special mention ..... Miller won his second CC at WELKS under Mr Albert Wight.  As always we are so proud of him and everything he achieves in the show ring.  Miller takes it all in his stride !!
