It is with the heaviest of hearts that I have to update our website with the news that Miller peacefully left us on February 14th 2015.  This fabulous, gentle boy will always be missed for just being 'Miller' and a very very special boy to me - Miller introduced me to the joy of owning a Champion and the many special times me and him shared are now treasured memories.  I will always miss his quiet gentle company and he will always be my Valentine.  Love you Mill and miss you more than words can say xx

Ch. Gillaber Tomnavoulin x Ch. Gillaber Drumoak

I had always loved the Gillaber dogs bred by  Ailsa Gill and Hazel Cook, so just before Christmas 2004 I phoned to see what they were planning, litter wise, for the following  year and whether they would consider letting us have one of their puppies.

To my delight Ailsa told me that they were planning to mate their bitch, Brora (Champion Gillaber Drumoak) to their dog, Tom (Champion Gillaber Tomnavoulin) that very afternoon and that possibly there could be a dog puppy for us, if everything went to plan !!  Well, thankfully everything did go to plan and in April 2005 Miller came to join us.

Right from day one Miller has just taken everything in his stride.  He is a laid back kind of dog, nothing seems to phase him and his calm confidence made him a natural show man, making my time in the show ring very easy, all I had to do was keep up !!  Away from the ring he is funny, intelligent, friendly, and charming with just a little bit of mischief about him that keeps life interesting.

He is now 8 years old and retired from the show ring but some of his many noteable wins include the following .....

  • Best Puppy in show at Bearded Collie Championship Show 2005
  • Junior Warrant at 14 months old and also Best Dog, Best Oppostie Sex & Reserve Best in Show at the North of England Bearded Collie Club Open Show
  • Aged 18mths wins his first CC with Best of Breed at Working & Pastoral Breeds Assoc. of Scotland
  • Wins Mid Limit Dog at Crufts 2007 and also is a finalist in the Kennel Club Junior Warrant Finals at Crufts
  • Wins 4 Challenge Certificates with 3 Best of Breeds under judges, Cath Ryan, Albert Wight, Paula Brookes and Stuart Mallard
  • 4 Reserve Challenge Certificates under Vic Salt, Ann Andrews, Margaret Harkin & Stephanie Hedgpath
